Very well thought out Bday gift from my Hubby…a Jean Impey face quilt “Ginger”

Last year wasn’t easy. Fourty-eighty came with its share of health related hurdles, so I enter my 49th trip around the sun with a new focus on movement and mindful making.
As I count down to 50, I’m committing to move my body with more intention. Quilting may not be a contact sport, but hours at the machine can sneak up on your spine, shoulders, and wrists-especially if posture slips.
This year is about balance. I’m learning how to combine a nursing career with an ever expanding creative quilting journey. Both demand my energy and focus, and caring for my health supports them both equally. I am weaving in small practical habits: stretch breaks, brisk walks, and a little strength training when my body allows.
This post kicks off my first weekly blog post. It’s a place to share my countdown to 50 journey, creative goals, and tiny habits to keep both my body and imagination moving. Follow along each week as I stitch together health, career, creativity, and a (mostly) joyful approach to this milestone year.
Now for a celebratory pint of Chunky Monkey because every fresh start deserves deserts. Health Journey officially starts…..tomorrow.
